ABOUT

Join Megan Wright for a 16-hour weekend intensive into the moving yoga body. Through an in-depth study of muscles, joints, nerves, and circulation, the workshop will reveal the anatomy and physiology behind several traditional yoga asanas.

Suitable for yoga teachers, trainees, and dedicated practitioners who wish to integrate functional kinesiological knowledge into both practice and instruction with clarity and confidence.

  • understanding the muscles, joints, nerves & arteries of the body within the practice of yoga
  • a kinesiological approach to traditional asana
  • stability, mobility, and safety in the practice and teaching of yoga

Interested students must:

  • Have a genuine interest in human anatomy, physiology, and the structure of the human body.
  • Have a deep desire to learn and to personally explore the physical foundations of yoga.
  • Have a coachable attitude and an open, curious mind.
  • Be fully committed to the intensive and understand that 100% full attendance is required for YACEP certification.
  • Be willing to prioritize the intensive over most other personal or professional commitments for the duration of the weekend.

RECOMMENDED READING

  • Functional Anatomy of Yoga by David Keil
  • Principles of Anatomy & Physiology 5th Ed. by Gerard J. Tortora & Bryan H. Derrickson
  • Gray’s Anatomy for Students by Richard L. Drake

Students will receive a Yoga Alliance Continued Education Program Certificate upon successful completion of the 16-hour workshop.
