Progressive Meditation Series: Breathwork
This 4-class meditation series teaches students how to recognise and work with the needs of the body, breath and mind, to progress towards a meditative experience. Along the way, practitioners will learn to cultivate a steady meditation posture, supportive breathing techniques and the art of relaxing the mind. This series is ideal for those who are new to meditation and want to explore it, as well as experienced students who want to deepen practice and consolidate their body-breath-mind relaxation techniques. This second class brings forward the connection between the mind and the breath. The class begins by cultivating appropriate breathing techniques and then advances into Pranayama practices to deeply concentrate the mind and prepare the groundwork for a successful meditative experience. This class is especially useful for those who are keen to learn breathing techniques and those who want to use breathwork to enhance their mental wellbeing. Focus for each class: Class 1: Stillness of Body Class 2: Breathwork Class 3: The Mind in Meditation Class 4: Japa Meditation
Progressive Meditation Series: Japa Meditation
This 4-class meditation series teaches students how to recognise and work with the needs of the body, breath and mind, to progress towards a meditative experience. Along the way, practitioners will learn to cultivate a steady meditation posture, supportive breathing techniques and the art of relaxing the mind. This series is ideal for those who are new to meditation and want to explore it, as well as experienced students who want to deepen practice and consolidate their body-breath-mind relaxation techniques. Of all the methods and techniques used in yoga to induce a state of meditation, Japa Yoga is one of the easiest and safest; it can be practiced by anyone, at any time, under any condition. In this fourth and last class of the series, the technique of Japa Yoga is taught using a universal mantra (sound vibration): the sound of our breath. Meditation on the sound of the breath enables practitioners to unite the energies of their body, mind and breath, enabling an experience of a heightened state of awareness and expansiveness of the mind. Focus for each class: Class 1: Stillness of Body Class 2: Breathwork Class 3: The Mind in Meditation Class 4: Japa Meditation
