Active Series
The Active Series is a dynamic practice consisting of basic yoga poses taught in a set sequence. It consists of a sequence of Sun Salutations, standing, seated, reclined, backbending and finishing poses. It combines strength and flexibility with movement and breath to produce an energetic yet therapeutic practice. The Series was created by the late Sharath Jois, the lineage holder of Ashtanga Yoga, aiming to make the benefits of Ashtanga Yoga accessible to a broader audience, regardless of age or ability. Some breathing exercises may be included.
Suitable for anyone looking to stretch and strengthen their bodies with moderate physical effort. Inversions or lotus poses are not included in this class.
