Bend and Breath - Unlocking the power of Backbends with Gopal Palanisamy

ABOUT

Join us for an immersive 30-hour back bending yoga workshop designed for practitioners of all levels. This transformative experience focuses on safely exploring the art of back bending, cultivating strength, flexibility, and emotional release through intentional movement and breath.

Practicing backbends offers a wonderful opportunity to shift both your perspective and mood. Rejuvenating and invigorating, backbends are often likened to the “espresso shots” of yoga. They help open your heart and are an excellent method for connecting with your emotional self, facilitating healing and celebration simultaneously. By energetically expanding the front of the body, these postures allow us to navigate through emotional and mental barriers.

The benefits of backbends extend beyond the emotional realm. Many of us spend our days hunched over, whether working on computers, using mobile devices, sitting at desks, or driving. This habit disrupts the spine’s natural flexion, and backbends help counteract this tendency. Incorporating these postures into your routine can significantly alleviate back and neck pain. When practiced consistently, backbends have the potential to transform your life.

Always let your breath be your guide, as it possesses a remarkable ability to influence your emotional state and mental clarity. Pay attention to your breath as it communicates when to deepen your poses and when it’s time to ease back, promoting safety and balance in your practice.

In this Immersion, we will delve into the following topics in detail:
