ABOUT

Embark on a profound exploration of the Jivamukti Yoga method with our immersive sessions designed to deepen your understanding of its core principles. Delve into the five tenets of Jivamukti Yoga: ahimsa (non-harming), bhakti (devotion), dhyana (meditation), nada (sound), and shastra (scripture). Each session is crafted to encompass themed-asana practices, pranayama exercises, meditation sessions, chanting, scripture studies, and discussions on yoga philosophy.

This immersive journey is ideal for students eager to deepen their knowledge of the Jivamukti Yoga method and elevate their practice to new heights.

Session 1 – Sun Salutation and Vinyasa Krama

30 November, 10:00am – 12:30pm

Experience the essence of Vinyasa Krama, the orderly placement of sequence events, as we break down sun salutations into a seamless flow of asanas linked with breath. Understand how each movement, whether simple or intricate, aligns with the rhythm of the breath, fostering a harmonious practice.
Session 2 – Backbending and the Centre of Compassion

1 December, 10:00am – 1:00pm

Explore the heart-opening realm of backbending asanas, intricately connected to the heart chakra—the seat of compassion. Discover techniques to enhance strength and stability for those naturally flexible and create space for those seeking greater mobility. Achieving a balance between strength and flexibility mirrors the equilibrium between stability and vulnerability, enabling access to gratitude and forgiveness.

Anna Fan
Anna began practising yoga to complement her training as a field hockey player and runner. The tranquillity she found in yoga led her to realise yoga as a holistic practice for the well-being of the body, mind and soul. Anna’s classes focus on cultivating students’ inner awareness through body movement, breath control and mind concentration. She hopes her students will leave the practice feeling more balanced in their bodies and more serene in their minds.
