Frequently asked
questions.
660
What is the difference between red light, near-infrared (NIR) and far-infrared (FIR)?
Red light and NIR use light wavelengths that penetrate the skin at different depths, while FIR is experienced as gentle radiant heat. Each modality supports the body in a slightly different way during class, optimising your workout and wellness.
What does practicing yoga under red light, NIR, or FIR feel like?
Most people describe it as calming, warming, and deeply relaxing. FIR feels like gentle heat, while red light and NIR feel similar to natural sunlight without UV exposure.
Do I need to do anything special to prepare for a class?
No special preparation is needed—just come hydrated and dressed comfortably in light clothing. We provide optional shades for you, if you need them for the red light.
Who should avoid or be cautious with these modalities?
You should not take 660 if you are pregnant, light sensitive (ex. porphyria or lupus), on photo-sensitising medication or managing a medical condition such as active cancer. We recommend checking with your healthcare provider if you are in doubt or have any questions about the suitability of 660 with your condition.
How are the Yamuna® different balls different than other body rolling tools?
The Yamuna® balls are intentionally designed with the precise size and material to fit the uneven surfaces of our musculoskeletal system. The gold ball is 25 cm in diameter and is usually used by beginners and for sensitive areas such as the rib cage and abdomen. The silver ball is 23 cm in diameter and is used especially for stimulating the lower body by advanced users. The pearl ball is 15 cm in diameter and is made for people with a smaller frame and great for travelling.
How is Yamuna® Y-Basics different than foam rolling?
Foam rolling creates local release in a specific area of the body using surface-level pressure, whereas Yamuna® Y-Basics focuses on bone stimulation done according to the ‘Body Logic’ – a specially designed routine that follows muscle lines from origin to INSERT IGNOREion to achieve complete release.
What are the beneficial effects of Yamuna® Y-Basics?
They include muscle and fascia release, more space in joints, and restoration in natural alignment in the body.
How often should I be doing Yamuna Y-Basics to see the effects?
We recommend to attend Yamuna Y-Basics class at least 2-3 times a week to feel the effects.
