Silks Place Taroko Yoga Retreat in Hualien with Vicky Yan & Sean Robinson

DESCRIPTION

Imagine going on a vacation with, and which is organised by, two of your favourite yoga teachers.

From the moment you land in Taiwan, where we will be waiting in the arrivals hall (with snacks of course), everything will be taken care of! Why? Because this is your well-deserved opportunity to switch off and decompress.

The only decision you need to make is which friend(s) to invite. We will even advise you on which flights to book.

This retreat is an all-inclusive experience; food, transport, activities and accommodation is all arranged for you.

What a normal day on retreat looks like

Whilst not two days are identical above is a rough idea of what to expect on a retreat. Remember, everything is optional. You can partake in as much (or as little) as you like.

How to spend the “free” time

  • Some afternoons will be kept deliberately free for you to chill by the pool(s); indoor or outdoor.
  • On one, or maybe two of the days (since the park is so big) we will drive to Tarako National Park.
  • Craft workshops, such as making candles, coffee body-scrubs and room sprays (using herbs grown onsite) can also be organised.
  • The Wellspring Spa, which boasts breathtaking canyon views (as well as an extensive list of treatments), is open between 2 PM and 10 PM.
  • The hotel shop is stocked with locally sourced beverages, desserts and snacks such as homemade jams.

Vicky Yang

Vicky, a former competitive swimmer and finance professional, discovered yoga's power in enhancing athletic performance and overall well-being during her marathon training in 2014. Guided by many teachers, she adopted an intuitive, holistic approach to teaching. Vicky's inclusive, dynamic, and fun classes cater to individual needs and encourage students to explore their limits, aiming to increase mobility, strength, and inner peace.

Sean Robinson

Originally advised to try yoga in 2014 to manage stress and heal from BMX-related injuries, Sean found a sense of stillness and challenge that resonated with him. He's been teaching in India, Sri Lanka, and Hong Kong, with a focus on Ashtanga and Rocket Yoga. Drawing on his background as a Speech and Language Pathologist, Sean emphasises effective communication in his classes, deconstructing complex poses and empowering students to advance their practice through understanding the rationale behind techniques and poses.
