Overview of the 3-Day Workshop

This course focuses on a deep understanding and practice of mindful Yin Yoga, designed for those interested in the principles of body-mind healing. Whether you are a yoga enthusiast, a non-yoga practitioner, or an experienced yogi, our course design will center around Yin Yoga and the use of various props to help deeply relax tense muscles, gradually extending to build physical and mental endurance.

As the workshop progresses, instructor Chris Su will analyze the details of the poses to inspire awareness in both the mind and body of the practitioners. We will explore three different course themes: Yin Yoga practice, myofascial release therapy, and trigger point therapy using massage balls. Chris Su will share insights to help us achieve deep relaxation in our body and mind, especially important in today’s fast-paced society where lifestyles are often hectic and can lead to physical and emotional imbalances.

We will also learn how to communicate with ourselves, achieving body relaxation through mindful breathing and meditation. The course will emphasize body healing solutions to provide information and a series of self-care postures for those looking to address physical ailments.

 

Workshop Course Schedule

 

Day 1:

Theory Session:

  • Origins of Yin Yoga
  • Principles of practicing Yin Yoga correctly
  • Overview of Yin and Yang
  • Diaphragmatic breathing techniques

Practical Session:

  • Yin Yoga postures (deep relaxation series)
  • Trigger point release techniques using massage balls

 

Day 2:

Theory Session:

  • Anatomy: Structure of the 14 major joints in the body
  • The theory of the spine and central nervous system
  • Structure of the hips and theory of the hip joints
  • Relaxation and stress-relief breathing techniques (using props)

Practical Session:

  1. Yin Yoga postures (hip-opening energy series)
  2. Manual acupressure healing techniques

 

Day 3:

Theory Session:

  • Theory of the four layers of fascia
  • Theory of superficial fascial lines in the body
  • Meridian clearing and breath regulation techniques

Practical Session:

  • Myofascial release therapy
  • Yin Yoga – self-healing practices for body and mind

Chris Su

 

Chris, Su Kok Leong 來⾃⾺來⻄亞。 他擁有英國皇家⾳樂學院鋼琴⼋級的⾳樂造詣,並獲得意⼤利美聲⾳樂證書。 年僅六歲就登台演出,並且曾獲得 200 多項國際歌唱⽐賽的冠軍。

 

在⾺來⻄亞林國榮⼤學完成學業後,他決定在⾺來⻄亞做⼀名專業參賽歌⼿。在 25 歲時,他決定改變⽣活⽅式,去印度尋找⽣活的意義。 最後他成了⼀名瑜伽練習者。 與他⽽⾔,瑜伽不僅是外在⾝體層⾯的練習,也是內在⾃我的修煉。

 

Chris Su 是⾺來⻄亞正念陰瑜伽教學培訓的先驅。 他⼀直在世界各地旅⾏並舉辦⼯作坊、導師培訓和瑜伽靜⼼活動。 此外,他的第⼀本書《找回⾃⼰》,新書曾在 2019 年 1 ⽉ 1 ⽇出版,以及在 2022 年於⾹港出版第⼆本書《都市⼈的瑜伽,創造個⼈的療癒》。

 

他擁有 E-RYT 500 瑜伽聯盟的⾼級培訓導師認證,與 Josh Summers ⽼師學習正念陰瑜伽培訓,同時,他也是⼀名有授權的靈氣和聲⾳治療師。 此外,他也是⼀名熱衷於佛教研究的學⽣。

 

隨著他對內觀禪修或是內觀冥想的興趣之提升,他對瑜伽練習的興趣也轉為更為靜默的形式。專業的中醫背景和對佛法的熱衷,讓 Chris Su 愛上了陰瑜伽這⼀結合了他這兩⼤興趣的瑜伽。
