4BEAT Rocket Immersion with Fiona Callanan

23-25 October 2026 | Pacific Place – Admiralty

4BEAT Rocket Immersion with Fiona Callanan

‘Everybody gets to do what they wanna do’

Larry Schultz, the creator of The Rocket, put his sequences together to be playful, dynamic and accessible, something that has, on occasion, been slightly lost in translation!

In our 4BEAT Rocket immersions we look at Rocket through the lens of accessible, mixed level practice and teaching to the beat.

During the weekend we will dive into the sequences of Rocket breaking down the funkier moves and inversions, examine why the idea of everyone getting to do what they want to do, functionally and inclusively, is so important, and explore ways that you can practice, and teach, Rocket accessibly.

We will also examine the philosophy and methodology of teaching and practising to the beat and how this can enhance concentration and flow state and balance the nervous system.

An 18-hr immersion into 4BEAT Rocket, this will be a weekend of accessible practice and learning, suitable for adventurous beginners and beyond.

On this 18-hr immersion you will learn,

  • How to teach and practice the Rocket sequences in a truly accessible way.
  • Effective techniques for teaching and practising to the beat and how to incorporate this into other sequence/styles of yoga.
  • How the beat can be used to regulate the pace and rhythm of your teaching and create smoother transitions between poses in your practice.
  • Counting, cueing, & aligning the voice with the rhythm of the music. Simplifying and decluttering your teaching.
  • How to use the beat to facilitate your pranayama practice and teaching.
  • The precise, specific alignments (i.e. actions) for specific asana in the Rocket sequences and how to apply these to your body and the bodies of your students so that you can measure progress with accuracy and precision.
  • How to make this action-based approach to teaching and practising Rocket work functionally for all bodies and minds.

Fiona Callanan

Bionic Yoga and Handstand teacher, Lawyer, Author, Disability Advocate, TEDx Speaker and Coach, mum

Fiona has been teaching yoga in London and Hong Kong for the past 8 years, balancing this all the while with her other jobs as single mum, litigation and investigations lawyer, disability advocate, and author.

Next up is a Guinness World Book of Records attempt for longest free handstand hold by a below knee amputee which Fiona is currently training for.

Balance is a constant act of understanding in the moment when things are going too far in one direction and then working to find the opposite action, and this is also the foundation of the accessible, alignment based functional 4BEAT Rocket practice that Fiona teaches.

Fiona lost her right leg in the Asian Tsunami of 2004. Her yoga practice has shown her that limitations are usually more mental than physical and had a huge impact on recognising and processing her trauma. Her practice and teaching is empowering, invoking a sense of possibility, joy, and fun.
