5 - 20 September 2026 | World Trade Centre - Causeway Bay
ABOUT
This event will be conducted in Cantonese, and all details are provided in Chinese only. Please visit the Chinese version of the website for more information.
The essence of yoga lies not in the limits of the body, but in the process of self-exploration.” This intensive study aims to guide practitioners from being “mere executors of movements” to becoming “internal observers of awareness.” It is specifically designed for intermediate to advanced practitioners who are passionate about yoga but do not intend to pursue teaching. The curriculum excludes instructional techniques such as student adjustments and sequence planning, focusing instead on refining personal practice, deepening the understanding of anatomical structure, and exploring yoga philosophy. This journey is a deep dive focused on personal growth, moving beyond the framework of teacher training.
Course Objectives: Establish a solid foundation for self-practice, thoroughly comprehend the biomechanical principles of asana, and apply the wisdom of yoga philosophy to daily stress management and response.
Phase I: The Body’s Precision Map (Anatomy and Alignment) — 9 Hours
Many practitioners tend toward “external imitation.” This phase will focus on teaching how to rely on “internal structural perception” to optimize asana execution.
- Skeletal and Muscular Synergy: An in-depth analysis of the biomechanical structure of the core, pelvis, and spine.
- Practice Safety Boundaries: Differentiating between “beneficial stretch sensation” and “potentially damaging pain,” and providing strategies for joint protection.
- Individualized Alignment Principles: Adjusting postures based on a student’s unique skeletal anatomy, moving beyond reliance on a single “standard alignment.”
- Precise Application of Props: Learning to use blocks, straps, and bolsters not just as substitutes, but as advanced tools to deepen postures and enhance bodily spatial awareness.
Phase II: Breath and Inner Energy (Pranayama and Subtle Practice) — 3 Hours
Once physical postures are stable, breathwork serves as the critical interface leading to the meditative state.
- Anatomical Basis of Breath: Functional operation of the diaphragm and techniques for optimizing lung capacity.
- Pranayama Practice: Mastering key breathing techniques, including Sitali (Cooling Breath), Ujjayi (Victorious Breath), and Bhastrika (Bellows Breath).
- Introduction to Chakras and Meridians (Nadi) System: Understanding the body from the subtle energy level, exploring the mechanisms of stress accumulation in specific bodily areas.
- Restorative Yoga: Mastering techniques for deeply relaxing the nervous system to optimize nighttime sleep quality.
Phase III: Ancient Wisdom for Modern Living (Philosophy and Mind) — 3 Hours
Yoga is not merely physical training but a philosophical toolkit for addressing the “challenges of the human condition.”
- Thematic Study of the Yoga Sutras: Focusing on the practical utility of the Ashtanga Yoga (Eight Limbs) principles in managing modern anxiety and attention deficit, rather than Sanskrit memorization.
- Cognitive Science of Meditation: Practicing diverse concentration techniques (including visualization, audio meditation, breath focus) to help students find a practice modality most suited to their individual needs.
- Yoga in Daily Life Application: Practicing how to maintain the “Yoga State” in everyday situations such as the office environment, commuting, and interpersonal conflicts.
- Diet and Ayurveda: Understanding one’s individual life energy (Dosha) and learning how to adjust dietary structure based on seasonal changes and emotional states.
Phase IV: Establishing Personal Practice (Self-Practice Application) — 3 Hours
Breaking free from dependence on external instruction to achieve the ability to practice independently anytime, anywhere.
- Internal Logic of Sequencing: Deepening the understanding of posture sequencing design principles (e.g., the priority of twists versus forward bends) and mastering the science of movement arrangement.
- Structured Self-Observation Journaling: Systematically recording physical sensory feedback and emotional fluctuations during practice.
Mastering Dynamic Balance: Autonomously selecting and adjusting practice modes (such as Yin Yoga or Vinyasa) according to daily energy levels.
