Close a chapter, turn a new page. The holidays can be delightful, but they also come with a degree of stress. Many of us have a tendency to rush into the new year, to say good riddance to whatever happened during the last cycle and try to start fresh. In order to allow for a new beginning, however, we often also have to do some endings.

 

A simple and effective end of year ritual is to carve out a little time for yourself to do yoga, meditation and journaling.

 

Feel cozy and supported as you practice with a welcoming group. Breathe deeply and allow your body to relax and experience the sensation of being completely supported by the Earth. Trust your heart to guide you towards love and truth in the New Year.

 

Contemplating and refining intentions leads us to our path and illuminates our way along it – from the faded past, through the darkness of winter, toward the bright future.

Connect with your intuition and creativity with a lot of forward bends, back bends, twists, and finally opening of the hips and heart, yoga asanas can be a powerful support in regaining a sense of equanimity and calmness and to help you decide what is really important. The partnering towards more challenging asanas facilitates the understanding of where you are right now and what small habits you need to implement to reach where you want to be.

Tin-Ming Lau
Tin-Ming is an experienced yoga teacher who has been exploring the connection between body, breath, and mind for many years. He is grateful to have learned from renowned teachers and incorporates the use of props to enhance the body-mind connection in yoga. With passion and compassion, Tin-Ming teaches various styles of yoga, empowering students to find a balance between discipline and playfulness and embrace their strengths. Since 2019, he has been organising yoga training to share his knowledge and teachings.
