Join us in this inversion and backbend workshop designed to transform your practice. The workshop focuses on getting to Scorpion Pose (backbend) in Forearm Balance (Pincha Mayurasana).

 

If you’re like most of us, you may find backbends emotionally and physically challenging. In today’s world, our daily routines – texting, driving, sitting at computers, and lifting little ones – often lead to forward-bending postures. Backbends counteract these habits, providing a powerful healing experience by creating space, energizing your body, and restoring balance to your life.

 

During this workshop, you’ll discover how to safely and effectively engage your muscles, ensuring strength and stability in your backbends and forearm balance. We begin with straightforward, foundational movements, highlighting often-overlooked details that help you access and open your upper back and the front of your body with care. Building on these basics, we’ll guide you deeper into your practice, enhancing your ability to perform backbends and forearm balances with confidence.

  • Learn to find stability in Forearm Balance (Pincha Mayurasana)
  • Drop back to Wheel from Forearm balance
  • Strengthen shoulders with dynamic movement
  • Open the shoulders
  • Strengthen the core
  • Open the chest
  • Practice deep back-bending

Pravesh Kumar
Pravesh embarked on his yoga journey at age 5 in India, later becoming a championship-winning competitor. In 2009, he won two Gold and one Bronze medal at the World Yoga Championship in Rome. Recognising yoga's depth, he shifted focus to mindfulness and breathwork. Having started his teaching career in India, he later taught in Vietnam, Singapore and since 2021, Hong Kong. Pravesh's classes, known for their clarity, humour, and accessibility, emphasise strength, flexibility, and mental well-being, with an artistic approach to practice.
