The yoga wheel is an excellent tool for heart-opening practices. Opening the heart brings a range of physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual benefits. The heart chakra governs our capacity to give and receive love. When it is blocked or imbalanced, we may struggle to experience love, compassion, grace, and inner peace, often feeling anger, grief, and bitterness instead. Engaging in yoga wheel practice can help alleviate these emotional blockages, promoting more effective healing in the body. Practicing heart-opening poses can enhance your ability to feel empathy, cultivate patience in challenging situations, and achieve a sense of equanimity.

 

One of the primary motivations for this teacher training is to share the transformative experience I had while exploring the yoga wheel, particularly in nurturing key areas of the body, especially the heart chakra. Ensuring safety while using this tool is of utmost importance. Therefore, my intention is to provide a clear and structured step-by-step introduction, complete with illustrations, to the yoga wheel, so that a wide community of individuals can enjoy its benefits.

 

This 50-hour Yoga Wheel Teacher Training program is designed for yoga practitioners who want to enhance or refresh their practice and teaching skills. It facilitates the discovery and exploration of various asanas (postures) using the yoga wheel, allowing for deeper stretching and greater bodily extension. Participants will have the opportunity to develop and strengthen a healthy spine, improve core stability, alleviate shoulder tension, enhance scapula mobility, and refine their balancing, back bending, and inversion postures.

 

Whether you are a yoga practitioner, instructor, fitness coach, or sports enthusiast, join us to enrich your yoga experience from a new perspective using the yoga wheel. Graduates will receive a Yoga Alliance-accredited certificate upon completion.

Gopal Palanisamy
Gopal began practising yoga at age 8, sparking a lifelong journey into yogic science. He views yoga as a life approach that emphasises humility, grace, kindness, body honouring, and mindfulness, and considers it a reliable friend through life's ups and downs. Gopal teaches with humour, offering options for all levels and focusing on joy, peace, grounding, centredness, and mindful breath awareness. He aims to help students understand yoga as a valuable tool for all aspects of life.
