ABOUT

This workshop offers a deeper understanding of the fundamentals – basic but not simple.

Have you ever experienced that feeling in a pose, when something feels “not quite right”?

If you have been fortunate enough to experience that moment where something clicks – when the pose changes forever – then you know exactly why we are hosting this workshop.

And if you haven’t experienced that yet, you’re in for a treat!

In this workshop we uncover the minor details that make a major difference.

These are things that sometimes get missed in a regular class – partly due to time, partly due to complexity, but mostly because we often take them for granted.

Some of the poses may be new to you, but that is not the focus – the focus is on refining your existing practice.

Maybe you have wondered how to position your neck in Upward Dog or your shoulders in Downward Dog – or perhaps it is where to place your hands and feet in the transition from Wild Thing to Wheel.

While we acknowledge that there isn’t always a definitive ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ way to perform a pose, it is essential to recognise that certain alignments will optimise performance and reduce the risk of injury.

We will explore both aesthetic changes (improving how your practice looks) and, more importantly, functional anatomy (improving how it feels).

Sean Robinson
Originally advised to try yoga in 2014 to manage stress and heal from BMX-related injuries, Sean found a sense of stillness and challenge that resonated with him. He's been teaching in India, Sri Lanka, and Hong Kong, with a focus on Ashtanga and Rocket Yoga. Drawing on his background as a Speech and Language Pathologist, Sean emphasises effective communication in his classes, deconstructing complex poses and empowering students to advance their practice through understanding the rationale behind techniques and poses.
Vicky Yang
Vicky, a former competitive swimmer and finance professional, discovered yoga's power in enhancing athletic performance and overall well-being during her marathon training in 2014. Guided by many teachers, she adopted an intuitive, holistic approach to teaching. Vicky's inclusive, dynamic, and fun classes cater to individual needs and encourage students to explore their limits, aiming to increase mobility, strength, and inner peace.
