ABOUT

In this immersion, you will understand the foundation of arm balances, inversions and learn the different dimensions to excel in them.

You will learn the basic techniques and fundamentals to condition right from fingers, wrist, forearms, shoulders, back and core. You will learn how to incorporate the breath in practice. We will explore the asanas with some basic approach of anatomy.

  • Strength and Stability: Arm balances and inversions require significant upper body strength, specifically in the arms, shoulders, and core. Practicing these poses helps to build and develop these muscles, promoting overall strength and stability in the body.

  • Concentration and Focus: Arm balances and inversions often require a high level of concentration and focus as they challenge your balance and equilibrium. Engaging in these poses helps to cultivate mental clarity, discipline, and mindfulness.

  • Core Activation: Arm balances activate and strengthen the core muscles, including the abdominal and deep stabilizer muscles. A strong core not only supports the arm balances but also provides stability, spinal support and injury prevention in inversions.

  • Body Awareness and Control: Arm balances and inversions require a heightened sense of body awareness and control. They encourage you to refine your alignment, engage specific muscles, and develop a keen sense of proprioception (the awareness of your body in space).

  • Overcoming Fear and Building Confidence: Arm balances and inversions can be intimidating, especially for beginners. By gradually working on these poses, you can develop courage, overcome fears, and build confidence in your practice and yourself.

  • Energy and Pranic Flow: Arm balances and inversions stimulate energy flow and activate prana (life force) in the body. These poses can create a sense of lightness, energize the system, and increase vitality.

  • Transcendence of Limitations: The process of learning and progressing in arm balances and inversions teaches us to surpass our perceived limitations. As we develop strength, flexibility, and resilience, we discover the potential to go beyond what we thought was possible on both physical and mental levels.

Ultimately, arm balances and inversions in yoga offer a transformative and empowering experience, enhancing not only physical strength but also mental focus, presence, and self-belief.
