Breath of Life: An Introductory Pranayama with Christina Cheng

ABOUT

Join us for an immersive introductory Pranayama that will enhance your understanding of breathwork and its transformative effects on well-being. Over the course of two days, participants will engage in a well-structured programme that combines theoretical insights and practical applications.

 

Session Structure

Each 2-hour session will be divided as follows:

  • Theory (30-45min): Explore key concepts of Pranayama and its benefits, highlighting the significance of breath in promoting mental clarity and emotional balance
  • Practical Pranayama Techniques (60min): Experience hands-on instruction in various breathwork techniques, including:

– Nadi Shodhana (Alternate Nostril Breathing)

– Sama Vritti (Equal Breathing)

– Visama Vritti (Unequal Breathing)

– Kapalabhati (Skull-Shining Breath)

– Bhastrika (Bellows Breath)

 

  • Guided Yoga Nidra (15-30 min): End each session with a guided Yoga Nidra, facilitating relaxation and integration of the breathwork practice.

 

Participants will leave the workshop equipped with valuable skills:

  • Understanding of Breath Mechanics: Learn to control and coordinate your body for effective breathwork.
  • Relaxation Techniques: Discover how to facilitate relaxation and alleviate stress through breathwork.
  • Functional Breathing: Enhance your breathing patterns for overall vitality.

Christina Cheng

Christina never imagined she would become a yoga teacher when she embarked on her journey in 2010. After over a decade of studying closely with Andrey Lappa, she experienced profound personal growth. The insights gained inspired her commitment to sharing yoga. Since 2013, Christina has taught in HK, mainland China, Nepal, and Malaysia, dedicating herself to helping students grasp the essence of yoga and integrate it into their daily lives.
