Led by Karen Wightman – Founder of Creative Yogis and internationally respected trainer – this Yoga Alliance USA – certified 95hr RCYT course blends playful wisdom with practical tools to help you teach yoga and mindfulness to children and teens of all ages and abilities.

Module 1: 6 – 10 August 2026 (Thursday – Monday) ** 45 Contact Hours + 2 Non-Contact Hours via Reading Assignment **

 Gentle Beginnings, Foundations & Family (Teaching Yoga & Mindfulness to ages 2-8 and Family Yoga)

Step into the playful, soulful world of early childhood. This joyful module invites you to reconnect with your inner child and discover how yoga and mindfulness can nurture young hearts, calm busy minds, and spark meaningful connection – at home, in classrooms, and beyond.

Foundations for Flourishing

  • Understand the science-backed benefits of yoga and mindfulness for early childhood
  • Explore developmental stages, anatomy, and safety essentials for ages 2–8
  • Learn how to structure classes with confidence and manage group dynamics with ease

Movement, Music & Mindful Play

  • Explore warm-ups, poses, partner work, and playful group sequences

Module 2: 12-16 August 2026 (Wednesday — Sunday) **45 Contact Hours / 3 Non-Contact Hours via Reading Assignment **

Blossoming Tweenies & Tuning into Teens (Teaching Yoga & Mindfulness to ages 9-12 and 13-18)

This transformative module meets tweens and teens where they are – emotionally, physically, and energetically. Through the lens of yoga as a modern wellness technology, you’ll learn how to support their mental health, emotional resilience, and self-expression in a world that often feels overwhelming.

Whether you’re teaching in schools, studios, or community spaces, this training gives you the tools to make yoga & mindfulness relevant, empowering, and real for young people today.

Understanding the Tween & Teen Journey

  • Tune into the emotional landscape of adolescence with compassion and clarity

No teaching experience? No problem. A regular yoga practice is recommended to help you feel grounded in the basics – but what matters most is your heart and your intention.

Meet Your Trainer: Karen Wightman

Founder of Creative Yogis | International Trainer | Heart-Led Educator

Karen Wightman brings over two decades of global experience to the mat—blending yoga, mindfulness, and creative expression to empower children, teens, and families. As the founder and senior trainer of Creative Yogis, she’s known for her playful, inclusive approach and her ability to turn yoga into a wellness technology for real life.

 

Her journey began in Thailand in 1995, and she’s since taught, mentored, and trained across Australia, Asia, and Europe—collaborating with leading schools, studios, and wellness organisations. From coordinating youth programs in Bangkok to teaching with PURE Yoga in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Shanghai, Karen’s work is rooted in connection, creativity, and care.

 

With certifications in the Knoff and Ishta systems, and advanced training with pioneers like Zenergy Yoga and Teen Yoga Foundation, Karen brings depth, heart, and hands-on wisdom to every training.

 

Her mission?
To inspire a new wave of facilitators who teach with authenticity, emotional awareness, and joy – equipping young people with tools for resilience, self-regulation, and lifelong wellbeing.

Lisa Fitzpatrick: Anatomy & Physiology Educator | Feminine Leadership Pioneer

Lisa brings over 30 years of experience as a registered physiotherapist and seasoned yoga teacher. A global educator in yoga anatomy since 2007, she trained in the Ishta system with Rachel Zinman and is known for her clear, empowering teaching style.

She’s also a published author, coach, and keynote speaker with a passion for women’s health. As the founder of Womankind, a feminine leadership program, Lisa blends science and soul to help trainees teach safely, confidently, and with deep respect for the body.

In this training, Lisa delivers the Anatomy & Physiology component—making complex concepts accessible, relevant, and inspiring for anyone working with children and teens.

 

Frankie Chan: Children’s Yoga Teacher | PURE Yoga Instructor | Mindful Mama

Frankie’s yoga journey began in 2003 and has taken her from ashrams in India to studios across Asia. Her studies span pre-natal yoga, SVASA, and advanced training with PURE Yoga’s Patrick Creelman. She completed her 95HR RCYT with Creative Yogis in 2016 and has been sharing yoga with heart ever since.

As a devoted mum of two, Frankie brings lived experience, warmth, and practical wisdom to her teaching. She supports trainees with real-world tips for engaging primary and high school students through an authentic blend of joy, structure and soulful connection.

Currently teaching at PURE Yoga, Frankie is known for her fun, encouraging classes that uplift students of all ages.

 

Chloe & Sinead: Teen Voices | Yoga-Inspired Changemakers

Chloe and Sinead are living proof of yoga’s impact on young lives. Karen met Chloe at age 8 and Sinead at 13—both grew up practicing yoga and mindfulness under her guidance. Their friendship blossomed during a partner yoga photo shoot, and their bond continues to shine.

Now young adults, they return to share their stories, insights, and inspiration in Module Two. Their presence offers trainees a rare glimpse into the teen experience – highlighting how yoga builds resilience, confidence, and connection across life stages.

As part of PURE Yoga’s vibrant Kids Yoga Teacher Training Program, this complimentary class is specially designed for children ages 5–8.
