Teacher's Biography
A bold, free-spirited Sicilian, Luigi stumbled upon yoga in 2014 in a quest to find his next physical challenge. Being a professional dancer, passionate gymnast and swimmer, he did not shy away from hard work. However, his rigorous training regimen left his body with a few long-term injuries, especially in his lower back. To his delight, Luigi found that yoga had an amazing impact on helping him heal these injuries, allowing him to continue to perform and become an even stronger artist. In addition to its healing effects, Luigi discovered a sense of calmness and inner peace.
Luigi developing his own flow practice, implementing elements of contemporary dance and movement to the traditional yoga practice.

A unique prop in yoga practice, the circular nature of a Yoga Wheel is perfect for releasing tension in the back muscles and reducing compression in specific spinal vertebrates in backbends. It also helps to enhance mobility and flexibility in the shoulders and hip flexors, bringing practitioners a pain-free backbends experience.
The Yoga Wheel is a good prop for core and shoulder strength training, making it a helpful tool for challenging arm balances and inverted asanas accessible. The Yoga Wheel arouses a practitioner’s awareness in counter balancing as it uses different muscles in our body in standing- and arm-balancing asanas.
This 2-hour class aims to rebuild inter-connectiveness and arouse consciousness through practising various traditional yoga postures with the Yoga Wheel.
In the first part (90 mins) of the class, students will be guided to practise yoga asanas with the Yoga Wheel according to alignment principles to improve strength, mobility, stability and flexibility, as well as develop an awareness of their own postures, enabling conscious self-correction in their yoga practice.
In the second part (30 mins) of the class, students will practice Yin & Restorative Yoga with the Yoga Wheel.
Suitable for students with a consistent yoga practice looking for new ways to expand their experience. Level 2 postures and full inversions may be introduced and included, with options for level 1 students. This class is not suitable for beginners, pregnant students, or students with arm, shoulder or spinal injuries.

Joan first stepped onto the yoga mat at PURE Yoga in 2003 and subsequently maintained a regular practice whenever class time fitted her hectic work schedule as a design director of an international fashion brand. After years of constant long working hours and stress, Joan started to suffer from arthritis, which awakened her decision to redefine life’s priority. In 2016, Joan decided to make a change and left the corporate world. She first went on a yoga retreat with Master Rachel Roberts in Bali. The immersion in yoga helped Joan to reconnect her mind and body, and she enjoyed the equilibrium from within that she had lost for long.
The amazing experience from the retreat ignited Joan’s interest in yoga in a much deeper way. In early 2017 Joan started her first 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training with Master Yogananth Andiappan, which established a strong base particularly on the therapeutic side of her yoga practice. The more she learnt, the more she wanted to know – and yoga became a pillar of Joan’s life. Thus, she continued her journey with a 300-hour Advanced Hatha Teacher Training and started teaching yoga. Joan has been a true loyal PURE Yogini and has been greatly influenced by many great teachers including Yogananth Andiappan, Samrat Dasgupta, Patrick Creelman and Jason Crandell. Joan finds it a blessing to teach at PURE, where she first started her practice.
Joan’s classes are dynamic and challenging. She emphasises the therapeutic effect of each pose and breathing techniques, targeting the connection of each muscle in one’s body with one’s mind and soul. Joan hopes her students will discover the benefits of yoga just as she has and that they will experience exhilaration and freedom after practising with her.
A fundamental class to prepare participants for physical activities and prevent injuries. It includes a full-body warm-up, joint conditioning exercises, and stretching techniques inspired by movement, yoga, arm balances. Participants will improve their flexibility, mobility, and overall readiness for various physical practices.

Hari Om (Eranki Srihari Baladitya) is a dancer, choreographer and dance teacher who first started Yoga practice in 2003 as an add-on practice for his dance warm-ups and cool-down. His passion for yoga increased manifold after he experienced a knee injury in 2009, when yoga became his source of recovery and rejuvenation. Hari Om feels that his personal injury came as a blessing in disguise as it opened a whole new world where he could not only improve his own health but help others seek a healthier lifestyle. His parents and teachers of dance or yoga have been his inspiration and have guided him in becoming a dance & yoga teacher.
His dance life started as a toddler when he first joined Kuchipudi dance in the Andhra University School of Fine Arts in his hometown of Visakhapatnam, India under the tutelage of his primary guru Sri Pasumarthi Sitaramiah. Along this journey, teachers like Samrat Dasgupta, Chandrika Gibson, Garret Lane and many others have helped him lay the foundation to becoming a Yoga teacher. Every teacher in his life has shaped his personality and philosophy towards life – "Happy, humble and open-minded".

Join Wendy for a two-hour Inner Retreat where she will share the nature of Prana and how this very simple act of breathing has profound effects on our health and well-being. This unique training will combine modern-day science of breathing with ancient Pranayama practices.
Breath work is the modern-day term for Pranayama. Pranayama in traditional terms is the practice of expanding, purifying, and containing our Prana. Yogis use Pranayama as an anchor for the mind to be in the present moment which helps tremendously with our modern-day businesses and stress. When we are able to relax, let go of our habitual stress patterns and turn our mind towards our breath, we can down regulate our nervous system and help with our own mental health hygiene. But becoming a functional breather before starting any Pranayama practice is key. We may all think we are breathing correctly but actually the majority of us are not and our health could be at risk.
In this science-based training, Wendy weaves together respiratory science, functional breathing, functional movement and yoga philosophy to help students restore their health and regain their own breathing power. This training will have a lecture component, seated breathing practice and simple Yin postures.

Wendy is a natural teacher of yoga and has taught since 2000. Her love for movement came at a young age from gymnastics to snowboarding with many other sports in between. Injuries were always a part of her life, as was learning to heal from them. Yoga was a great friend and tool to help with the healing process. After retiring from professional snowboarding, Wendy pursued her love of teaching and Yoga. She is originally from Whistler, Canada but spent many years in the United States and has now resided in Hong Kong since 2006 -- the year she also started working with PURE Yoga Hong Kong. When she is not teaching and studying Yoga, healing and the breath, Wendy and her husband and 8-year-old boy are out chasing waves, snow and exploring the great outdoors.
In the last decade, Wendy has become increasingly interested in the power of breath. Understanding that there is more to it than what was taught in her yoga trainings, she branched out and shifted her perspective towards Breathwork studies with scientific backing – what actually happens when we breathe, how it affects our health and how the ancient practice of Pranayama works in modern times. Wendy believes that many of us are not breathing as nature intended. We are caught in upper chest stress breathing, even in our yoga practice. This over-breathing has created an imbalance in our bodies’ chemistry and our overall health. Through healthy curiosity and self-observation (or Svadhyaya), we can start to be aware of our breathing and our bodies’ movement habits, learning which serve us and which do not.
Wendy’s classes provide a platform for this self-study that gives students the tools to listen to their bodies, explore what they need and learn to strengthen, stretch and heal. Her Asana classes are vinyasa-based, blending breathwork and mindfulness with playful practice to leave one inspired, grounded and at peace. She also teaches standalone Pranayama and meditation classes.
Wendy has taught many yoga/surf, yoga Ayurveda and yoga detox retreats around Asia. She has also led many successful programmes like 40 Days to Personal Revolution, 50-hr teacher trainings, and Pranayama and meditation programmes.

Yoga is a holistic science, covering every aspect of human existence. With a link between the human body, mind and consciousness, we have to work at the same time with our body, mind, as well as with the expressions of consciousness to be healthy.
In yoga, it is believed that illness is the outcome of unsolved problems which may be environmental, social or personal. The patient may be victim to pollution or an unhealthy lifestyle. When we are unable to solve these problems, the effect is manifested in the form of sickness.
Yoga therapy helps us to learn how to deal with and solve these problems. A scientific method, with a combination of therapeutic postures, breathing and relaxation techniques, yoga therapy is recognised as a substitute of medicine or alternative medicine. Regular yoga practice will remove the underlying cause of many ailments and diseases, mental and physical. It helps not only to cure diseases but also to prevent them.

Prabir started learning yoga at the age of 9 and began teaching at 18. His first step into yoga was initiated by his brother and grandfather, both of whom were great Yogis. As a child, Prabir was relatively short compared to his classmates. With the help of yoga, his little weak body grew into a strong and well-developed one. He even challenged himself by entering yoga competitions and won many awards including the “Champion of the Champions” in the All India Yoga Competition, Kolkata in 1985. The benefits he obtained from yoga made him determined to make yoga his lifelong career.
In his early 20s, Prabir met his guru Yogacharya Sri Lalit Mohan from Kaivalyadham, Maharastra, India and was greatly inspired by him. Guided by Sri Lalit, he reached a deeper understanding of asanas, pranayama and the importance of Sthiram Sukhamasanam – i.e. when you achieve a posture, it becomes effortless. Prabir knew that yoga was not just about posture because he had experienced its magic before. So in 1990, he completed a Diploma in Yoga Therapy. Since then, Prabir has helped many students and patients through his yoga classes and therapeutic sessions. He is committed to promoting yoga in his professional capacity and developing a yoga culture for everyone. In his more than 30-year career span, approximately 70 of his students have become renowned yoga teachers in Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, Vietnam, China, Cambodia, Malaysia and many other countries.
Prabir’s classes are rhythmic, with sequences synchronised to his music. His classes are reputable for helping students to develop a balance between strength and flexibility, improve their alignment, and build a healthy mind and body. Prabir believes that yoga, especially pranayama (breathing techniques), can bring harmony to our entire being. So he always reminds his students to respect and listen to their body.

Fabien was born in 1984 in Nice, in the south of France. Since he was a Kid, he felt that there was the highest purpose on life so he determined to find it. His steps led him first on a tatami rather than on a Yoga mat, and he made his path to a higher consciousness on the way of martial arts so many years before to get on the way of the Yogi. When he went for the first time in his uncle’s yoga school, he immediately understood that Yoga and Martial arts lead to the same objective. And in 2012 he decided to join his uncle’s school. He was trained for 3 years to become a yoga therapist. In 2016, he decided to deepen his knowledge on how to improve the human being getting several certification in Pilates. Currently Fabien expresses himself the best through Budokon Yoga, a style which combines all the knowledge he has learned in the various schools of martial arts, and infuses it with the discipline of yoga.
On his path, Fabien met several great masters, But the most significant teacher for him was his uncle who went to learn yoga in an ashram in India. One of the first principle that Fabien’s uncle taught him was : “No need to go to India to understand yoga, Yoga is your nature, you only need to enter into yourself.” Since then, Fabien has been developing his capacity of self-consciousness in his whole life. Cameron Shayne has been a significant master in Fabien’s experience because he created the link between the martial artist and the yogi he is.
Fabien’s classes are challenging and atypical, he uses his knowledge on other disciplines to enhance his classes. He aims to bring his students to self consciousness, and to get a better understanding of themselves. He gives us the opportunity to embrace both the warrior and the yogi inside us and to get more balance in our manifestation.

Vikasa Chill Flow
This very relaxing and deeply meditative practice is suitable for all levels. Even though this is an asana-based practice, it is more appropriate to think of it as a slow movement meditation. Developed by Kosta over the last few years, this is his signature practice now. Chill classes are characterised by longer holds in passive poses, with special music and fully guided breath, combined with active awareness meditation in each asana. Konstantin (Kosta) Miachin is the creator of VIKASA Yoga method – a unique, challenging and effective approach to yoga. He is also the founder of VIKASA Yoga Academy.
Kosta has been passionately learning, practising, and teaching yoga since 2004 and his passion has led him to seek out his own personal development throughout the world. On his journey, he spent months in the ashrams of the remote Himalayan mountains, trained in an authentic Muay Thai Boxing camp, was initiated by the master monk and has undergone a sacred Sak-Yant ceremony in a temple in North-East Thailand, followed his passion, and rediscovered himself. This quest has brought him into contact with many different schools and masters all over the world, in places such as Rishi-kesh, Uttar Kashi, Gangotri, Kerala, Goa, Canada, Thailand, and Ukraine - to name a few. With such a wealth of knowledge, it has led Kosta to a deeper understanding of yoga practice as an ever-evolving process, with each master contributing to the overall development of the humankind, rather than a rigid system, where no rules can be bent. This became the principle philosophy of Vikasa Yoga.

This unique class combines the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Zen Yin, and the angelic sounds of Crystal Singing Bowls to guide participants on an inner exploration journey.
During this two-hour session, you will have the opportunity to delve deep into your inner landscape and reconnect with your body, mind, and spirit. Meridian Yin Yoga focuses on stimulating the flow of energy along the meridian lines of the body, promoting balance and harmony within the energetic system. By holding gentle, supported poses for an extended period, you will allow the energy to circulate freely, encouraging deep relaxation and release.
Accompanying the Yin poses, the ethereal tones of Crystal Alchemy Singing Bowls will fill the space, enveloping you in a symphony of healing vibrations. The pure, resonant sounds emitted by these bowls have been used for centuries to facilitate meditation, relaxation, and profound states of tranquillity. The angelic tones will help to quiet the mind, dissolve tension, and awaken your innate capacity for inner stillness. The combination of gentle stretching, breath awareness, and the harmonising effects of the crystal singing bowls will create a holistic experience of rejuvenation and restoration.
By the end of this class, you can expect to feel a profound sense of calm, deep rest, and inner equilibrium. The integration of Meridian Yin Yoga with Crystal Alchemy Singing Bowls offers a unique opportunity to explore the realms of your being, nurturing both the body and soul. Immerse yourself in the transformative power of this practice and emerge with a renewed sense of tranquillity and well-being. No prior experience in Yin Yoga or meditation is necessary to participate in this class. All levels are welcome.

Samantha began yoga with intentions to deepen her personal practice and expand her knowledge of yoga. After her first teacher training programme in 2005, yoga transformed into a lifelong journey of learning, opening, sharing and teaching. Samantha’s vision and knowledge have grown to include not only yoga, but also women’s health, life balance, and total wellness. She enjoys her friendships, family, pottery, photography, reading, hiking, travel and food.
Samantha’s inspiration comes from each of her past teachers as well as her students. She believes that watching students practise yoga increases her understanding of yoga’s complete benefit for a happy and healthy life. This enables her to continually grow as she teaches. In addition to her foundational Hatha Vinyasa teacher training, she has also expanded into Pre- and Post-natal Yoga Teacher Training, Birthlight Perinatal Yoga, Infant Massage, and Kids Yoga.
Samantha is particularly focused on teaching that allows for the progression of students at their own paces. Her style is steady, calm and very approachable, aptly her nickname as ‘killer Sam’. She has an astonishing way of making students work, raising their practice to higher and higher levels – without them feeling it was all work and no play. She is down-to-earth and guiding in her life as well as her teaching.
