During this workshop, you will embark on a journey that transcends the physical realm, cultivating strength, balance, and mental focus. Led by Hari Krishnan, you will be guided through a progressive series of exercises and techniques that gradually build the foundation for a safe and confident headstand practice.

1. Foundation and Alignment: Learn the key principles of alignment, proper head and hand placement, and muscular engagement to establish a strong foundation for headstands.

2. Strengthening and Conditioning: Engage in specific exercises and conditioning drills that target the core, upper body, and shoulders to build the necessary strength and stability required for headstands.

3. Proprioception and Balance: Develop a heightened sense of body awareness and improve your balance through various drills and exercises that focus on proprioception, ultimately enhancing your ability to find stability while upside down.

4. Modifications and Progressions: Explore a range of modifications and progressions that cater to different skill levels, allowing beginners to comfortably approach headstands while offering advanced practitioners opportunities to refine their technique.

5. Safety and Injury Prevention: Understand proper safety measures, including spotting techniques and precautions, to ensure a secure and injury-free headstand practice.

6. Overcoming Fear and Building Confidence: Address any fears or concerns associated with inversions and receive guidance on developing a positive mindset, building self-trust, and cultivating confidence throughout your headstand journey.

7. Mindful Transitions: Discover graceful transitions into and out of headstands, exploring creative flows that integrate headstands into your yoga practice.

By the end of this workshop, you will have gained the necessary knowledge, skills, and confidence to practise headstands safely and effectively. Experience the transformative power of inversions and embark on a remarkable journey that will elevate your yoga practice to new heights.

Note: This workshop is open to individuals of all fitness levels, but it is recommended that attendees have a basic understanding of yoga postures.

Hari Krishnan
Hari, originally from Chennai, India, turned to yoga for healing during his career as a national high-jump athlete. Inspired by his teacher and brother, Gopala Krishan, Hari obtained his first yoga teaching diploma from the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Dhanwantari Ashram. He has been teaching since 2012 in India and Hong Kong. Hari's classes emphasise grounding, present practice, alignment awareness, and safe, mindful exploration of comfort zones, aiming to inspire students to embrace life and overcome obstacles.
