ABOUT
We live in a fast-paced world that is impacting the mental health and emotional well-being of our children and teens.
Do you feel called to make a positive difference by empowering children of all ages to manage stress, stay calm and truly thrive whilst becoming emotionally resilient?

Creative Yogis is a Registered Children’s Yoga School (RCYS) & Continuing Education Provider approved by the Yoga Alliance USA. Karen Wightman is passionate, dedicated and humbled to serve as a yoga & mindfulness educator supporting and celebrating the uniqueness of each child at every age. Study with Karen and certify to become an inspiring, engaging, playful, and creative Registered Children’s Yoga Teacher (RCYT), making a positive impact in the lives of children. It is her intention to guide you to confidently teach all ages and abilities safely, appropriately and meaningfully in a variety of settings.

Providing a safe space for children to express their feelings and thoughts can cultivate emotional intelligence and self-regulation. It increases self-awareness, supports anxiety and promotes kindness whilst also assisting in behaviour management. Empowering children & families with the holistic skills of yoga and mindfulness allows them to thrive and shine whilst become caring, compassionate and empathetic well-rounded individuals.

Why choose this training?

The 95-hour Children’s Yoga Teacher Training (RCYT) is a fully comprehensive and experiential learning programme crafted with the perfect balance of theory, embodied practice and discussions. The training is facilitated in a relaxed atmosphere that is fun, informative and student-centred to inspire optimum creative learning.

Delivered in two modules over 10 days, full attendance is required in order to obtain the 95-hour certification. All training material is provided in the format of detailed manuals, webinars and resources. In addition, trainees will be invited to join a private Facebook group with a global community of teachers to gain ongoing support.

Module One – Gentle Beginnings, Foundations & Family:

Little yogis from 2-8 years old and their families will discover and explore their bodies, learn how to facilitate simple breathing practices, mindful movement, dance, play, mindfulness, song, stories, creativity and family yoga.

Module Two – Blossoming Tweenies and Tuning into Teens:

The journey continues with our fabulous pre-teens, ages 9-12 and teens ages 13-18. A significant period of huge transformation for both age groups will be supported through postures, breath awareness, mindfulness and meditations.

Challenges and games still delight, with reflective activities, creative self-expression and deep relaxation to promote self-awareness. Guide them to discover the peaceful, resilient and brave warrior within by equipping them with skills to navigate the often-bumpy road to young adulthood. Offer support with kindness, gentle humour, authenticity and deep compassion.

Please note: Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT200) will be further eligible for the specialty designation as a RCYT upon the completion of the course and additional requirements.

If you wish to attend individual modules only, these hours can still be counted towards Continuing Education Training (CET) Hours for the Yoga Alliance RYT with your ‘certificate of completion’.

Students will also receive reading assignments prior to and during the training in order to fulfil the non-contact hours required.
