Workshop

End of Year Celebration: Yin Yang Yoga Wheel with Joan and Kamal

20 December 2023

About this workshop

This 2-hour special class aims to arouse the body’s consciousness through practising various traditional yoga postures with the Yoga Wheel.

• In the first 60 mins, Kamal will guide you to practise yoga asanas with the Yoga Wheel according to alignment principles to improve strength, mobility, stability and flexibility, as well as develop an awareness of their own postures, enabling conscious self-correction in their yoga practice.
• In the second part (60 mins) of the class, Joan will guide you through a gentle yet progressive stretch sequence with the Yoga Wheel.

Joan Jolliffe
Joan was a design director before becoming a yoga teacher. Suffering from rheumatoid arthritis due to overworking and stress awakened her decision to redefine life’s priority. Joan left her corporate job in 2017 and started her first teacher training. Joan has been a true loyal PURE Yogini for over 20 years and is influenced by many great teachers including Yogananth Andiappan, Patrick Creelman, Jason Crandell and handstand master Miguel Santana. Joan feels blessed to teach at PURE, where she started practicing.
Kamal Acharya
Kamal embarked on his yoga journey in 1998 at Bihar Yoga Bharati, learning from Guru Paramahamsa Swami Niranjanananda Saraswati. He taught diverse communities while obtaining his Master's degree and later became a Registered Medical Practitioner in Yoga Therapy. Since moving to Hong Kong in 2007, he's taught at multiple institutions, including a 10-year stint at Physical Fitness and joined PURE Yoga in 2018. Kamal's unique teaching style emphasises "teaching with the heart", inspiring all who practise yoga with him.
