Crow Like a Pro with Sean

WS2707

Starstreet Precinct

About this workshop

Hold it, twist it, float into (and out of) it.

To the untrained eye, a crow is a crow. However, there is so much more to this arm balance than you might think.

The mother of all arm balances, the crow pose, establishes an understanding of the mechanics of weight distribution and the centre of gravity. This is essential if you wish to progress to other arm balances.

In this workshop, you will discover the nuances and subtle changes that will transform your arm balances from good to great — using the crow pose as your base for learning.

Students will build competence and confidence in the below poses/transitions:
Crow
Side Crow
Crane
One-Legged Crow (Versions 1 and 2) and Crow to Chaturanga
Downward Dog to Crow

Suitable for students with some yoga experience looking to improve their arm balancing practice. Not recommended for those with wrist or shoulder injuries.

Sean Robinson
Originally advised to try yoga in 2014 to manage stress and heal from BMX-related injuries, Sean found a sense of stillness and challenge that resonated with him. He's been teaching in India, Sri Lanka, and Hong Kong, with a focus on Ashtanga and Rocket Yoga. Drawing on his background as a Speech and Language Pathologist, Sean emphasises effective communication in his classes, deconstructing complex poses and empowering students to advance their practice through understanding the rationale behind techniques and poses.
