Overview 

People today often maintain a single posture at work all day, leading to very limited joint movement and flexibility. Prolonged poor posture or excessive movement can cause chronic pain due to tension in the myofascial tissues as well as contribute to backaches, soreness, and poor circulation in the lower body — among other discomforts.

In this workshop combining Yin Yoga with fascial scraper/fascial ball pain therapy, we will share how Yin Yoga practice can help repair modern-day pain issues. We will also incorporate the innovative fascial scraper technique to release and relax overly tight myofascial areas, allowing deeply tense muscles to achieve profound relaxation before gradually extending into exercises that build physical and mental endurance.

Our focus is a deeper understanding and practice of mindfulness-based Yin Yoga, while also catering to students who wish to learn about physical and mental recovery. Whether you are a yoga enthusiast, a non-practitioner or an experienced yogi, we welcome you to join.

 

Topics Covered

Day 1:

Theory Session:

  • Origins of Yin Yoga
  • Principles of practising Yin Yoga correctly
  • Anatomy – 1. Types of muscle tissue (head and neck, scapula, elbow and forearm function); 2. Pathological practical course on fascia

Practical Session:

  • Muscle relaxation related to respiratory and spinal function
  • Yin yoga poses practice and fascia ball therapy (targeting pain relief in the neck, shoulders, and back)

 

Day Two:

Theory Session:

  • Anatomy – 1. Types of muscle tissue (hip joint, knee joint, ankle function); 2. Pathology of fascia

Practical Session:

  • Yin yoga poses practice and fascia ball therapy (pain relief targeting the hips and circulation in the lower body)

 

Day Three:

Theory Session

  • Anatomy – 1. Basic theory of superficial fascial lines in the body; 2. Proper techniques for using the fascia knife
  • Concepts related to fascia adhesions

Practical Session

  • Fascia knife relaxation and pain therapy (shoulders, back, and lower body)

Chris, Su Kok Leong 來⾃⾺來⻄亞。 他擁有英國皇家⾳樂學院鋼琴⼋級的⾳樂造詣,並獲得意⼤利美聲⾳樂證書。 年僅六歲就登台演出,並且曾獲得 200 多項國際歌唱⽐賽的冠軍。

 

在⾺來⻄亞林國榮⼤學完成學業後,他決定在⾺來⻄亞做⼀名專業參賽歌⼿。在 25 歲時,他決定改變⽣活⽅式,去印度尋找⽣活的意義。 最後他成了⼀名瑜伽練習者。 與他⽽⾔,瑜伽不僅是外在⾝體層⾯的練習,也是內在⾃我的修煉。

 

Chris Su 是⾺來⻄亞正念陰瑜伽教學培訓的先驅。 他⼀直在世界各地旅⾏並舉辦⼯作坊、導師培訓和瑜伽靜⼼活動。 此外,他的第⼀本書《找回⾃⼰》,新書曾在 2019 年 1 ⽉ 1 ⽇出版,以及在 2022 年於⾹港出版第⼆本書《都市⼈的瑜伽,創造個⼈的療癒》。

 

他擁有 E-RYT 500 瑜伽聯盟的⾼級培訓導師認證,與 Josh Summers ⽼師學習正念陰瑜伽培訓,同時,他也是⼀名有授權的靈氣和聲⾳治療師。 此外,他也是⼀名熱衷於佛教研究的學⽣。

 

隨著他對內觀禪修或是內觀冥想的興趣之提升,他對瑜伽練習的興趣也轉為更為靜默的形式。專業的中醫背景和對佛法的熱衷,讓 Chris Su 愛上了陰瑜伽這⼀結合了他這兩⼤興趣的瑜伽。
